Baptism

The first sacrament of initiation into the Catholic faith is celebrated during our Eucharistic celebrations. Preparation includes a meeting and discussion on the sacrament between our priest and both parents and Godparents.

Godparents must be Catholic, minimally 16 years of age, have received their First Communion and Confirmation, and living an example reflecting and in harmony with the faith. The two godparents must be of the opposite gender.

Parents wishing to have their child baptized are invited to call our parish office for further information.

Sacramental Preparation

First Penance, First Communion

Chalice and LectionaryThe First Confession for baptized children takes place in the winter, followed by the First Eucharist celebrated in late spring of each year. Candidates should minimally have completed Grade 2 to register. Sacramental preparation for children and parents begins in the fall. Registration dates are to be announced, and take place beginning in the month of May, immediately following our Sunday Eucharistic Celebration.

Confirmation

The sacrament in which the already baptized receive the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, takes place once a year around late spring. Candidates should minimally have completed Grade 5 to register. Sacramental preparation for children and their sponsors also begins in the Fall. Registration dates are to be announced, and take place beginning in the month of May, immediately following our Sunday Eucharistic Celebration.

Reconciliation

A priest is available for confession thirty minutes prior to all Masses or by appointment.

Marriage

Please contact our office minimally six months before the marriage date to book an appointment with our priest, including registration for marriage preparation courses.
